초록

As the amount and variety of data being produced in brain science research continues to increase, data standardization is becoming increasingly necessary to ensure that the data is reliable and reproducible. This can facilitate scientific advances and collaborations among researchers. Since 2019, the Korean government has been leading standardization efforts for all biological data types and the Korea Brain Research Institute (KBRI), which is the first gov’t endowed institute for brain research in South Korea, is trying to play a key role in promoting data sharing and collaboration among researchers by providing infrastructure and resources for these efforts in the neuroscience field. By establishing and utilizing standardized data formats, researchers can integrate neuroimaging, omics, and behavioral data more effectively to achieve a more comprehensive understanding of brain function. Furthermore, the public repositories in KBRI for data sharing will enable researchers to access and analyze data from different studies, further facilitating collaborations and scientific advances. Overall, these efforts can potentially lead to new insights and discoveries and help develop more effective treatments for brain diseases, including neurological and psychiatric disorders.
